Presterar hållbara investeringar bättre än traditionella? : En statistisk jämförelse och en tvärsnittsanalys av etiska och traditionella aktiefonder

This thesis will examine how a selection of ethical funds relate to the traditional funds in risk adjusted returns linked to Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR). The scope of the research is to see if there is a difference between the fund categories and determine whether it is worth investing sustainable. To answer the main question, data from a ten-year period of 83 funds, of which 27 ethical and 55 traditional funds have been collected to shape the sample for this survey. Three regression analysis with dependent variables Jensen's alpha, Sharpe ratio and Treynor ratio is applied to highlight results and significance. The study's null hypothesis was rejected when the results showed that there is a significant difference between ethical andnon-ethical funds, where ethical funds performed better when it comes to risk-adjusted return. In other words, an investor will gain greater profit if they choose to invest ethically instead of conventional.Denna studie undersöker hur ett urval av etiska fonder förhåller sig till de traditionella fonderna i riskjusterad avkastning med koppling till Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR). Studiens mål är att se om det skiljer sig mellan fondkategorierna och avgöra om det lönar sig att investera etiskt. För att besvara frågeställningen har data på en tioårig tidsperiod för 83 fonder varav 27 etiska och 55 traditionella fonder samlats in för att bilda urvalet för denna undersökning. Tre regressionsanalyser med beroende variablerna Jensens alfa, Sharpe kvot och Treynor kvot tillämpas för att framhäva resultat och signifikans. Studiens nollhypotes förkastades då resultatet visade att det finns en signifikant skillnad mellan etiska och konventionella fonder, där etiska fonder presterade bättre när det kommer till riskjusterad avkastning.
