El pueblo judío en la perspectiva de Abraham Heschel

Like other cultural groups throughout history, the Jewish people represent a conglomeration of notions, traditions, and concepts. However, one of the most outstanding is the appreciation for the origin, which highlights their sense of belonging and their appreciation for history and tradition. Certainly, belonging to the Jewish people implies a series of commitments and considerations, not only social and ideological, but also behavioral. This text alludes to the conception of the Jewish people from the perspective of Abraham Heschel, a 20th century Polish rabbi, placing special emphasis on intellectual effort, the notion of being chosen, the sense of the transcendent, the idea of family and the appreciation for perseverance, humility and responsibility.Tal como otros grupos culturales a lo largo de la historia, el pueblo judío representa un conglomerado de nociones, tradiciones y conceptos. No obstante, uno de los más sobresalientes es el aprecio por el origen, lo cual pone en evidencia su sentido de pertenencia y su valoración por la historia y la tradición. Sin duda, pertenecer al pueblo judío implica una serie de compromisos y consideraciones, no sólo sociales e ideológicas, sino también conductuales. El presente texto alude la concepción del pueblo judío en la perspectiva de Abraham Heschel, un rabino polaco del siglo XX, poniendo especial énfasis al esfuerzo intelectual, la noción de ser elegidos, el sentido de lo trascendente, la idea de familia y el aprecio por la constancia, la humildad y la responsabilidad
