Thirteen different silicone sealants were exposed on strain- cycling racks simulating movements in external building joints. Following the use of differential scanning calorimetry to confirm that the sealants were indeed silicones, it was found that a quick outdoor exposure screening test, described here, could eliminate unsatisfactory materials within two months.Treize produits d'\ue9tanch\ue9it\ue9 \ue0 base de silicone ont \ue9t\ue9 expos\ue9s sur un banc d'essai simulant les mouvements des joints ext\ue9rieurs d'un b\ue2timent.
