The article discusses the functions of metamorphous characters in Olga Tokarczuk’s works. Drawing on the post-humanist criticism, the author of the article demonstrates how the Noble Prize winner uses the ambiguous ontic existence of hybrid characters in order to interrogate the well-established boundaries of species identity.
