Caractérisation thermique d'un échangeur-stockeur constitué d'un matériau à changement de phase dans une structure conductrice

The recovery of thermal waste is an important factor to improve the efficiency and economy of energy. Latent heat storage appears to be a promising solution of this problem and to synchronize the production and consumption of energy. We are interested in industrial applications with short thermal cycles. However, Phase Change Materials have low thermal conductivity. A concept based on paraffin and Expanded Natural Graphite (ENG) was manufactured and characterized. PCM has crystallization kinetics with two different transformations. The crystallization kinetics function of each transformation has been identified. The planar thermal conductivity, and the thermal contact resistance was identified in solid and liquid phases, using an experimental device coupled with a numerical model developing an inverse method. A phase change study of a plate and of an encapsulated aluminum cylinder was carried out using three energy conservation methods (enthalpy method, apparent specific heat, and crystallization kinetics), and experimentally validated. A 2D finite element simulation, associated with an analytical method was used for a tubular exchanger composed of a network of plate. Finally, an aging study of a single plate and encapsulated cylinders was carried out. The study confirms the thermal stability of the composite material.La récupération de rejet thermique présente un enjeu important pour l’amélioration de l’efficacité énergétique et économique. Le stockage par chaleur latente présente une solution prometteuse pour synchroniser la production, avec la consommation. Nous nous sommes intéressés aux applications à cycles thermiques courts. Cependant les Matériaux à Changement de Phase (MCP) sont peu conducteurs. Un concept à base de paraffine et de Graphite Naturel Expansé (GNE) a été fabriqué et caractérisé. Le MCP possède une cinétique de cristallisation présentant deux transformations différentes. La fonction de cinétique de cristallisation de chaque transformation a été identifiée. La conductivité thermique plane et les résistance thermiques de contact ont été identifiées, en phase solide et liquide à l’aide d’un dispositif expérimental couplé à un modèle numérique développant une méthode inverse. Ensuite, le changement de phase d’une plaque et d’un cylindre encalpsulé d’aluminium a été modélisé numériquement en utilisant trois formulations de conservation d’énergie (méthode enthalpique, capacité thermique apparent, et de cinétique de cristallisation) et a été aussi validé expérimentalement. Une simulation 2D par éléments finis, associée à une méthode analytique d’un échangeur-tubulaire composé d’un réseau de plaques a été réalisée. Enfin, une étude de vieillissement d’une plaque unitaire et de plusieurs cylindres encapsulés a été réalisée et a permis de confirmer la stabilité thermique du matériau composite
