The literature survey introduces lubricants and plasticizers and reviews the literature of the raw materials and manufacture of bio-based lubricants and plasticizers. A lubricant reduces friction and wear between two moving surfaces. Viscosity, viscosity-index, total acid number and total base number are important lubricant properties. Plasticizers increase flexibility of a rigid material, reduce glass transition temperature and change mechanical properties.
