The influence of the physical education benefit’s understanding for the physical features’ change of both sexes 11th class schoolchildren in secondary school

The purpose of the research- to investigate the influence of the physical education benefit’s understanding for the physical features’ change of both sexes 11th class schoolchildren in secondary school. Seventy nine schoolgirls and schoolboys, whose belong to the main medical physical ability group and attend Kalvarija secondary school, took part in our pedagogical experiment. The experiment was organized during the school year of 2004-2005. In September 2004 schoolchildren were distributed into two experimental (E1 group of 19 schoolgirls and 21 schoolboys) and two control (E2 group of 20 schoolgirls and 19 schoolboys) classes. “The experimental program of knowledge education” was applied for group E1, group E2 had the same physical education lessons as earlier. Research methods used in a Masters thesis were as follows: analysis of literature, questionnaire method, physical features’ testing, statistical analysis. After the questioning of schoolchildren it became clear, that physical education��s knowledge and it’s influence for the change of schoolgirls’ and schoolboys’ physical features, also factors making impact for approach to have sport are very important. EUROFIT and other physical tests were used to identify physical features of pupils. The results of questioning the schoolchildren shown, that only about half of them think, that physical education lessons are meaningful. It’s reasons could be the lack of physical education knowledge and the absence of textbook of this subject. The answers of question asking to prescribe physical education spheres, which pupils would like to known more about, also proved, that pupil want to get more information about physical education’s things they care. Pupils also noted the ways, which make the knowledge they get more useful. All these things shown, that physical education’s knowledge is needful for schoolgirls and schoolboys of 11th class. Question about physical education’s standards let to know, that the bigger part of pupils aren’t familiarized with them. It can be explained as the lack of knowledge of physical education’s standards or as the lack of general knowledge of physical education. Physical education’s standards designate the purposes of physical education, the physical levels pupils should seek. Having some knowledge about physical education standards and following them could help schoolchildren to get more tangible benefit. The Masters thesis, that knowledge of physical education and it’s benefit, got during the theoretical lessons, will make some influence for the change of pupils’ physical features, was partly, but not at all correct. Most results of tests made during the period of experiment got better. Theoretical lessons changed pupils’ attitude towards the lessons of physical education, but not as much as we liked.Švietimo akademijaVytauto Didžiojo universiteta
