Health science careers provide the foundation for the healthy communities necessary to fuel Iowa’s growing economy through a dynamic and exciting range of physical, mental, and public health care offerings. Due to an aging population and related health care needs, it is also one of the most secure and fastest growing sectors. Already the largest employer in the state, with over 220,000 employees spread between over 10,600 locations1, this growth will further increase the need for quality health science education and training programs across the state.
