This Master Thesis examines the competence development of technicians during their career. AS the large generations retire during the next ten years many competence-based organizations face great changes. The employments shorten. Organizations must prepare themselves to the fact that their employees will not stay in their employment for their whole career. This requires better knowledge sharing considering both explicit and tacit knowledge. Added to that, the organizations must reassure that they have rightly skilled employees also in the future.
