Relevance of the research. In a large choir group, the conductor undoubtedly plays a supporting role in the mainstay. In the process of conducting a team chorus, in order to maximize the individual ability and collective level of the chorus members, the chorus conductor is required to maintain his superior conducting skills. Problem of the research – are conducting skills substantial in university chorus education? The object of the research: conducting skills in the university chorus. The aim of the research: to reveal the peculiarities of conducting skills in the university chorus. The objectives of the research: 1. To analyse scientific literature dealing with the importance of chorus skills in chorus education; 2. To disclose the relationship of chorus and conducting and skills; 3. To analyse the attitude of future music teachers towards chorus (conducting skills) on the basis of the empirical research (questionnaire survey). Research methods: analysis of scientific literature and documents; questionnaire for students and teachers; interview; quantitative (calculation of absolute and percentage frequencies) and qualitative (content) analysis of the data. Conclusions: 1. Literature analysis shows that it is essential in universities to strengthen the quality of teaching of chorus conductors, encourage students to master standard skills, and implement good skills to improve overall chorus performance. In a variety of school literature and art activities, through the use of chorus conduct skills, the musical expressions are standardized and optimized. Under the guidance and support of chorus conduct skills, students’ artistic display can be improved in the field of music, and it is an important guarantee to improve the overall cultivation of students' music skills. 2. According to the questionnaire results, most students chose to study and become a chorus conductor because they are interested in learning chorus and command skills. It mainly depends on students' attitude towards music lessons and chorus teaching: the analysis of the accumulated data shows that majority of the students, i.e. 67% of the respondents like music lessons and chorus teaching very much. They use chorus as a way to directly express emotions and want to get pleasure and success from these activities, on the other hand, there are 33% of students who are not interested in chorus teaching. Students believe that a chorus teacher should be a professional who can motivate and encourage students, possess good personal qualities and know how to communicate well with students. This is an aspect of chorus conducting education that requires a lot of attention. 3. The analysis of the interview results reveals that the biggest conducting problems students encounter in their study are mastering the breathing of choir vocal skills, mastering the starting of conducting skills and the expression of hand ornaments. Therefore, it is very important to cultivate students' interest in learning choir conducting in chorus music education. In addition, teachers should make a more targeted learning plan to make students interested in learning choir conducting.Tyrimo aktualumas. Dideliame choro kolektyve dirigentas neabejotinai atlieka pagrindinį vaidmenį. Vykdant komandinį chorą, siekiant maksimaliai padidinti individualius choro narių sugebėjimus ir kolektyvinį lygį, choro dirigentas privalo išlaikyti savo aukščiausius dirigavimo įgūdžius. Tyrimo problema - ar dirigavimo įgūdžiai yra reikšmingi choriniame ugdyme universitete? Tyrimo objektas: dirigavimo įgūdžiai universiteto chore. Tyrimo tikslas: atskleisti dirigavimo įgūdžių ypatumus universiteto chore. Tyrimo uždaviniai: 1. Išanalizuoti mokslinę literatūrą, nagrinėjančią choro įgūdžių svarbą ugdant chorą. 2. Atskleisti choro ir dirigavimo santykį bei įgūdžius. 3. Remiantis empiriniu tyrimu (anketine apklausa) išanalizuoti būsimų muzikos mokytojų požiūrį į dirigavimo įgūdžius chore. Tyrimo metodai: mokslinės literatūros ir dokumentų analizė; klausimynas studentams ir mokytojams; interviu; kiekybinė (absoliučių ir procentinių dažnių skaičiavimas) ir kokybinė (atsakymų turinio) duomenų analizė. Išvados: 1. Literatūros analizė rodo, kad universitetuose būtina stiprinti chorų dirigentų mokymo kokybę, skatinti studentus įsisavinti standartinius įgūdžius ir diegti gerus įgūdžius, siekiant pagerinti dirigavimą chorui. Įvairioje mokyklinės literatūros ir meno veikloje, naudojant choro dirigavimo įgūdžius, muzikinė raiška yra standartizuota ir optimizuota. Vadovaujant ir palaikant chorinio dirigavimo įgūdžius, galima tobulinti studentų meninį pasirodymą muzikos srityje, ir tai yra svarbi garantija, siekiant pagerinti bendrą studentų muzikos įgūdžių lavinimą. 2. Pagal anketos rezultatus, dauguma studentų pasirinko mokytis ir tapti choro dirigentu, nes yra suinteresuoti išmokti choro ir vadovavimo įgūdžių. Tai daugiausia priklauso nuo studentų požiūrio į muzikos pamokas ir chorų mokymą: sukauptų duomenų analizė rodo, kad daugumai studentų, t. y. 67% respondentų, muzikos pamokos ir choro mokymas labai patinka. Jie naudoja chorą, kaip būdą, tiesiogiai išreikšti emocijas ir nori iš šios veiklos gauti malonumo ir sėkmės. Kita vertus, yra 33% studentų, kurie nesidomi chorų mokymu. Studentai mano, kad choro mokytojas turėtų būti profesionalas, galintis motyvuoti ir padrąsinti studentus, pasižymintis geromis asmeninėmis savybėmis ir žinantis, kaip gerai bendrauti su mokiniais. Tai choro dirigavimo ugdymo aspektas, reikalaujantis daug dėmesio. 3. Išanalizavus interviu rezultatus paaiškėja, kad didžiausios dirigavimo problemos, su kuriomis studentai susiduria studijuodami, yra choro vokalinių įgūdžių kvėpavimo įvaldymas, dirigavimo įgūdžių technikos ir rankų ornamentų išraiškos įvaldymas. Todėl labai svarbu ugdyti studentų susidomėjimą chorinio dirigavimo mokymusi chorinės muzikos ugdyme. Be to, mokytojai turėtų sudaryti tikslingesnį mokymosi planą, kad studentai būtų suinteresuoti mokytis chorinio dirigavimo.Švietimo akademij
