Efficiency of social-pedagogic assistance at school: viewpoint of class tutors

Problems of children and youth living in the society which has been currently facing the consequences of globalisation processes become more acuteand complex, therefore efforts and competences of several professionals are instrumental for consideration of diese problems. This implies that assistance to pupils should also be of a complex nature and include efforts of the entire school community, various specialists and social partners and should be directed towards implementation of a common assistance strategy. The first part of the Article presents the concept of efficiency of the social-pedagogic assistance, and the efficiency criteria: expediency of assistance, purposefulness and efficiency of the activity executed by professionals equipped with relevant knowledge and skills. The second part of the Article provides the results of the inquiry of 376 class tutors (men comprise 7proc. and women — 93proc). The majority of respondents were inquired in Vilnius, Utena, Marijampolė and Klaipėda counties. During the empiric study and with a view to specifying the purposefulness and complexity of the provided social-pedagogic assistance, the following works have been carried out: the analysis of problems considered by each specialist of a school and ways for solving diese problems; identification of purposefulness of operations; evaluation of knowledge of class tutors on the assistance provided by each specialist, and quality of provided assistanceVytauto Didžiojo universitetasŠvietimo akademij
