Abstract This acculturation study of Nigerian adolescent (age 12-17) and youth (age 18-24) immigrants in Minnesota included 80 samples, specifically 35 male participants and 45 female participants. The categories on the scaled included: Assimilated, Separated, Integrated, and Marginalized. The result for the main research question shows that the population is likely to be integrated and less likely to be marginalized. This study also reveals that adolescents were more likely to be assimilated than youths. However, they were not likely to be different in terms of the degree to which they integrate and marginalize. In the same study, it appears that there was a difference in the acculturation of male and female participants
