Document: 89th Congress, 1st Session, H.R. 4671, February 9, 1965, page 2323 1 under the jurisdiction and supervision of the Secretary in the 2 Colorado River Basin, he is directed to comply with the ap- 3 plicable provisions of this Act, and of the laws, treaty, com- 4 pacts, and decrees referred to in paragraph (a), in the stor- 5 age and release of water from reservoirs in the Colorado 6 River Basin. In the event of the failure of the Secretary to so 7 comply, any affected State of the Colorado River Basin may 8 maintain an action to enforce the provisions of this section 9 in the Supreme Court of the United States (which may in 10 its discretion remand any such action to the United States 11 District Court for the District of Columbia) and consent is 12 given to the joinder of the United States as a party in such 13 suit or suits, as a defendant or otherwise. 14 SEC. 503. (a) All terms used in this Act which are de- 15 fined in the Colorado River compact, or in the Decree of 16 the Supreme Court of the United States in Arizona against 17 California (376 U.S. 340), shall have the meanings there 18 defined. 19 (b) "User" or "water user" in relation to mainstream 20 water means the United States, or any person or legal entity, 21 entitled under the Decree of the Supreme Court of the United 22 States in Arizona against California (376 U.S. 340), to use 23 mainstream water when available thereunder.Epson Perfection 4870 Photo, 400 dpi, 8 bit, 1,604,330 byte
