Udall Secretary of the Interior Washington 25, D. C. This will acknowledge your letter of September 8 with apologies for not answering sooner but having been in the House, you know what a mad scramble this has been toward the end of the session. I do not have to tell you that I supported the Public Works Appropriations Bill and the power issue contained therein, for it is now a matter of record and I had previously lined up with Wayne Aspinall to garner all the votes I could. I tried to see you at Mike Kerwin's party the other night but you got away. I hope that the Public Works Bill will be passed in the Senate, for this is very important to our state and there are several other items relative to reclamation and flood control contained therein.
