Glen Rose

For Razorback Report, page 4].Glen Rose (1905-1994) was most noted for being a Coach for the University of Arkansas, beginning his career as a student and Razorback athlete. He was selected for All-Southwest Conference from 1926 to 1928, and also as an All-American in 1928. He lettered in football for three seasons and baseball for two, then graduated in 1928 with a BA. In 1929, at the University of Arkansas, he served as assistant coach for 3 seasons until 1932. For nine years, he was head basketball coach from 1933-1942, and then was head football coach from 1944-1945. In 1942, during World War II, Rose coached the Camp Grant (Army base in Rockford, IL) football team. Later, In 1948, Rose coached basketball for the Stephen F. Austin College Lumberjacks until 1952. Afterwards, in 1952, he went back to the University of Arkansas as head basketball coach for 14 more seasons until 1966. He "won 325 games in total at Arkansas, going to two NCAA Tournaments and winning six conference titles." He is member of both the Arkansas Sports Hall of Fame and the University of Arkansas Sports Hall of Honor
