After a little longer than a century of dedicated studies in the use of marble in ancient times and with taking into account the development that this subject matter is currently reaching, we consider positively that the recapitulation of which has been the principle line tackled by historiography, analysing the current state of the investigation with its advances and short comings.Después de algo más de un siglo de estudio dedicado al empleo del mármol en la Antigüedad, y ante el desarrollo que esta temática está alcanzando en la actualidad, creemos positiva la recapitulación de cuáles han sido las principales líneas de trabajo abordadas por la historiografía, analizando el estado actual de la investigación con sus avances y sus carencias
