As we have been doing since 2010, in this issue we publish the best papers of SVR (Symposium on Virtual and Augmented Reality), that took place at Curitiba, in November 2017. The guest editors, Jauvane Oliveira from The National Laboratory for Scientific Computing (LNCC) and Fátima Nunes from University of São Paulo (USP) invited the best papers of the symposium to submit extended versions to this special issue. Seven of the selected best papers are presented in this issue.
