Introduction: Oral cancer is the fifth most frequent malignant neoplasm in men and the twelfth in women, with an expressive number of cases annually in Brazil, positioning the country in the first place in incidence in Latin America. The most common histological type is squamous cells carcinoma / spinocellular carcinoma (SCC), with the lower lip, lateral borders and base of tongue and buccal floor being the most common sites for its development.
