Linda Lin Smith Interview, January 28, 2020

Linda Smith discusses her involvement with the Montana Public Radio show, In Other Words from the mid-1980s to the early 2000s. She describes her interest in radio which started during her childhood. Smith details her career as a printer for an alternative paper, The Rag, in Austin, Texas, before moving to Missoula, Montana, and starting an all-women print shop. She talks about how she came to work on In Other Words when it was in jeopardy of being shut down, and how the show as partly funded by Women\u27s Opportunity and Resource Development [WORD] various careers including her transition from newspaper printing to In Other Words, a radio show hosted in Missoula, Montana. Smith discusses the need for women to be able to comfortable speaking in public and to work collaboratively with one another.
