Belgium: The representativeness of trade unions and employer associations in the banking sector

The banking sector is an important activity in the country. As in other sectors of the Belgian economy it is characterised by an insitutionalised model of social dialogue and mutual recognition of employers’ organisation and trade unions in two joint sector committees (no. 310 and 308). Collective bargaining is a mix of a sectoral framework (for small banks) and further implementation at company level (in the large banks).
