Ksantogenian etylowy i izobutylowy w mieszaninie z ditiofosforanem etylowym (Hostaflot LET®) stosowane są jako odczynniki zbierające (kolektory) w procesach wzbogacania krajowych rud miedzi metodą flotacji pianowej. Jednakże, w niedalekiej przyszłości, stosowanie ksantogenianów jako kolektorów w krajach Unii Europejskiej może się okazać niemożliwe ze względów formalnych. Opracowanie oligomerów z pierwszorzędowymi grupami aminowymi i ditiokarbaminowymi działających jako kolektory i aktywatory są przedmiotem badań opisanych w tej pracy.
