The title of my work is ‘Raphael as portraitist’. The topic is analyze Raphael’s Santi portraits. Description of stages of his creativity and description in the context of the era. The output element is to clarify the definition of the portrait. From Latin word ‘portraho’ used in the Middle Ages, portrait is a presentation of human appearance made in different techniques.The history of portrait go back to the eastern ancient art. Was enriched and developed also in ancient Greece in age V B.C. and Rome. In Middle Ages portraits tradition existed in sculpture tombstone, in a series of images of ecclesiastical authorities and in painting book.
