A certain amount of staff turnover is to be expected in every organisation, however when particularly high levels become a "norm" questions need to be asked. This study examines the factors that have led to an upward trend in the staff turnover levels in Boras CO Plc, a leading financial services company in operation here in Ireland. Generally the factors that contribute to high staff turnover can be described as controllable or uncontrollable. While management must be aware of the 'uncontrollable factors", such as an employee's decision to move from Dublin to Meath, the main focus should be on the controllable factors.
