The problem formulations of this research are what words or sentences of English slang are used by the fourth, fifth and sixth grade students at Darul Istiqamah Islamic Boarding School for Girls Barabai Central Hulu Sungai Regency academic year 2009/2010, What factors influence the use of English slang in Darul Istiqamah Islamic Boarding School Barabai Central Hulu Sungai Regency and how is the students’ knowledge about English slang.\ud The research purposes are find out what words or sentences are used by the fourth, fifth and sixth grade students at Darul Istiqamah Islamic Boarding School for Girls in daily conversation, knowing the factors influence the use of English Slang in Darul Istiqamah Islamic Boarding School for Girls Barabai Central Hulu Sungai Regency and knowing how is students’ knowledge about English Language variety especially about English slang.\ud In this research, the writer observes about English slang used by the fourth, fifth and the sixth grade students at Darul Istiqamah Islamic Boarding School for Girls as the subject with the total number is about 66 students. The writer also observes the factors influenced the use of English slang and about students’ knowledge in using English slang. \ud To collect the data, the writer uses some techniques such as observation, questionnaires, interview, and documentary. Then the data that have been collected will be processed in sorting, coding, tabulating, frequency and data interpretation. \ud This research describes that in Darul Istiqamah Islamic Boarding School for girls are many English slang words, expressions and sentences used in daily conversation. The writer also found that the students’ use slang language is influenced by some factors, such as psychology factor, social factor and cultural factor. Students’ knowledge about English slang also influenced the use of English slang in the boarding school
