Das bipolare heterothallische Fortpflanzungssystem des filamentösen Ascomyzeten und Penicillin-Produzenten \(\textit {Penicillium chrysogenum}\) ermöglicht es sexuelle Nachkommen zu generieren. Zum Nachweis von Rekombinationsereignissen, zwischen der DNA beider Kreuzungspartner, wurden die Genome der Parentalstämme und Nachkommen sequenziert.
