The objectiveof this study was to investigate the influence of osmotic potential on the germination of Zeyheria montana. Therefore, seeds of this species were subjected to different osmotic potential induced by polyethylene glycol 6000 -PEG 6000 (0, 0.4, -0.6, -0.8 and -1.0 MPa) and evaluated its influence on the percentage of germination rate and germination rate for a period of 24 days. It was observed that the percentage and speed of germination were inversely proportional to the increase in osmotic potential, being void from -0.8 MPa and 87% in the control treatment.
