Shown here as the "Alfred Cytaki," this Canadian vessel was built by Swan, Hunter, and Wigham Richardson, Ltd. of Newcastle, Great Britain in 1931. She was of 1,876 gross ton. She was owned by Dominion Tankers, Ltd. Toronto, Ontario until 1941. In 1941, she was under the ownership of Canadian Tankers, Ltd. of Toronto. From 1965 to 1971, she was under the ownership of Shell Oil of Canada, Ltd., Toronto. In 1971 and until 1973, the Big D Lines of Windsor, Ontario owned her. She experienced numerous name changes; from 1933 - 1950, she was known as the "John A. McDougal," from 1950 - to 1969, she was renamed the "Eastern Shell." From 1969 - 1970, the "Fuel Marketer." The following year, she was named the "Western Shell" and from 1971 to 1973, she was lastly named the "Alfred Cytaki.
