Forest and land fires in Indonesia are prone to occur during the dry season. On October 20, 2019, forest fires occurred in three mountains around Malang Raya, to be precise Mount Arjuno, Mount Welirang, and Mount Semeru. If the forest and land fires do not immediately extinguish, it is feared that they could have a bad impact on health and others. Students of the University of Muhammadiyah Malang who are members of the Student Activity Unit of the Nature Lovers Student Division (DIMPA) are trying to actively participate in disaster management and management. This study aims to describe the behavior of Student Members of UKM DIMPA UMM in responding to the news about Karhutla in Malang Raya on the Radarmalang.id Online news portal . This study uses the theory of SOR (Stimulus-Organism-Response) to determine the extent of the response to cognitive responses (knowledge), affective responses (attitudes) and conative or behavioral responses (behavior or action).The method used inThis research is descriptive qualitative. The technique of determining the research subject uses purposive sampling technique, namely to the UMM DIMPA Students. Based on the results of research on nine research subjects, there are various behaviors of UKM DIMPA UMM members in responding to news about forest and land fires in Malang Raya on the online news portal Radarmalang.id, including: 1) Just reading news content, 2) Reading news then spreading the news link is in the UKM DIMPA UMM Group, 3) Read the news about forest fires then volunteered to become a volunteer for forest fire fighters
