The scope of the thesis is intended to explore employment opportunities for women and minorities as we know it in today's American society. The concept of the glass ceiling will be defined and reviewed. The focus will be to better understand this aspect of American culture, and at the same time review the responsibilities of corporations and organizations so pertinent recommendations can be suggested to reduce the inequality of employment opportunities for women and minorities. Also, the responsibilities of individuals will be reviewed so they can prepare themselves for opportunities that arise.
