His Cousins, Albert , John and Herbert Hagan and Fred Smith all killed in action or died of disease.Enlisted on the 9th July 1915 in 25th Battalion, 6th Reinforcement. His unit embarked from Brisbane on board HMAT A48 'Seang Bee' on 21 October 1915. Promoted to Corporal and transferred to the 9th Battalion on the 17th March 1916.
