25 years 11 monthsAdney had only been in Australia for a few months prior to enlisting. He left Darwin for Brisbane per 'Montoro' on 17 August 1916 to join his Unit. Adney was demobilised in England in 1919 and travelled to South Dakota with the intention of going farming with his brothers. He returned to Australia and lived in Queensland for eight years prior to his death in 1967 in the Greenslopes Repatriation Hospital, Brisbane. His personal effects were sent to Miss McWalters of Clontarf Beach, Queensland as she was named next of kin. Adney had no living relatives at the time of his death.
