Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) Wirraway A20-7 at Daly Waters 4 September 1939. The RAAF operated 757 of this type. This was one of five Wirraways being deployed to Darwin (12 Squadron) and arrived 10:30pm on 5 September. One aircraft (A20-5) was involved in a landing incident at Darwin killing two - Flying Officer AV Dolphin and Corporal HW Johnson, who were the first service personnel to die on Australian soil during World War 2.Bullman, Kevin Nelson
