Located between Alexander Dickman and Colegrove-Walker. Cropped view of drawing shown at the beginning of the tour. In 1885, an Observatory was constructed northwest of Alexander-Dickman Hall “sufficiently elevated to give a good view of the Heavens.” This was the second building constructed on campus. Two years later the Observatory was moved northeast of Alexander-Dickman Hall to make room to construct North Hall.Photo cropped to highlight Observatory[Title], Upper Iowa University Digital Archives, [Reference URL].
