Alumni House

Purchased by UIU early 1950s, Sold then repurchased 2000, Moved to current location, 2001- Across Union Street, east of the Recreation Center The Alumni House that is currently located across the street from the Recreation Center was purchased by UIU in the early 1950s. It was originally located on land near the Andres Center. Initially, it was used as a rental house for faculty. The Sparkman family first rented, then purchased the house from the University. The Sparkman family had to move it to the southeast corner of campus to make room for Garbee Hall. The house went through more owners until it was purchased by the Gliddens and turned into a Bed and Breakfast until 2000. November 2000 UIU bought the house once again.
