As we see in contemporary discussions about identity and persistence, we encounter some important problems when the concepts of change and continuity are considered in the same context. In these discussions, some different approaches have emerged about how the relationship between temporal parts is established, how objects maintain their unity throughout the change, and how qualitative continuity can be explained temporally.
