Base operations felt the pinch as truck drivers and railroad employees refused to cross the picket lines. Frieght movements ground to a virtual standstill. Frieght cars on the Oklahoma City, Ada and Atoka railroad tracks were stacked up for three blocks. Trucks were arriving at the srawlinginstallation throughout the day, but drivers were refusing to unload. The trucks and frieght cars contained all types of material for the base.......J. Howard Stark, field examiner of the board, forwarded his report to Washington Wednesday. Just what effect the pickers were having on on contracts inside the base was not known, but Teamster leaders maintained they were honoring other union men working the lines.This was stressed in a statement Wednesday by Maj. Gen. Thomas P. Gerrity, commander of Oklahoma City air materail area, saying the lines were hampering operations...He also asked for quickest possible action by the government and expressed hope the NLRB would act swiftley.
