Under a $418,000 water plant bond issue, part of a general $875,000 city improvement package approved in february, 1963, the upcoming work will double the capacity og the city's filter system from 3 million to 6 million gallons per day. Water usage High In displaying plans for the expansion, city engineer Carlos Davila told the council that on certail days last summer Bethany water usage had gone past 3 million gallons. Like most other projects in the current bond program, the water plant work is aimed to take care of an expected 30,000 ultimate population figure for the community. Population now stands at approximately 16,500.
