Caption: "One more big step forward, in a program started in 1950 to solve Oklahoma City's flood, traffic, park and school problems - that's what the city bond election Tuesday really means, in the opinion of the city's leaders. The map shown on this page give the complete picture, and the details of the bonds to be voted upon Tuesday. The total if $3,895,000 with $1 million for Negro schools, $1,812,000 for clearing the right-of-way for the floodway, and $1,083,000 for more right-of-way for the by-pass road, and three new bridges.....The seperate school fund for Negroes is to complete Douglas highschool on the old fairgrounds which was vacated when the city decided to build a new fair park on the west side. It will buy one new elementary school in the city-free funds for still another one. And it will put new schools at Arcadia and Spencer.
