Bill Tankersley, conducting the job for Builders Construction Co., said the project will be ready before school opens next September. The Classen students in one of the fanciest highschools in the country. Brick work is to start within the next week on the gymnasium. Steel structural work has been completedon on this unit of the plant for several months. Most nearly complete unit is the shops buildings, which Tankersley reports is 85 percent complete. Brick work on this portion of the project is 95 percent done, leaving only some interior and finishing jobs to be done........The new Classen is taking shape after years of planning, studying of other top-notch schools all over the country, and just plain dreaming by city school officials. it will cost and ultimate $4 1/2 millions. The school will accommodate 2,800 students, and can be altered to eventually take care of more than 3,000. it will include a baseball stadium and fieldhouse, completed early last spring, and a 12-acre track and football practice field, also finished many months ago.
