Outlined are the north-south and northest-southeast runways, scheduled for completion first under a city-works progress administration program. Each will be 3,800 feet long and 150 feet wide. The east-west and northwest-southwest runways will be completed later, although they are already being laid out. This picture shows how necessary is removal of the state highway patrol radio tower, as it stands directly in the center of the northwest-southeast runway. Oklahoma City may be seen upper left, with Northwest Thirty-ninth street, connecting the field with the downtown area, marked. Contractors are preparing to begin laying the asphalt runways immediately after the runways at Municipal airport No. 1 are completed.
