ANALISIS KETERAMPILAN LITERASI SAINS PADA SISWA KELAS 5 SDN KETABANG I/288 SURABAYA

Science literacy is seen as a multidimensional meaning that science literacy is not just an understanding of knowledge of science, but it can improve high-level thinking skills and relate the understanding of knowledge gained to everyday life. SDN Ketabang I/288 Surabaya is one of the schools that apply science literacy. This research aims to know and describe: (1) Science literacy skills in grade 5 students at SDN Ketabang I/288 Surabaya, (2) class teacher effort so that students can master science literacy skills easily and well. This study used a type of descriptive research describing the research on the subject of Grade 5 students at SDN Ketabang I/288 Surabaya, using data collection methods such as observation, interviews, and documentation. This research uses a qualitative method of study, where the research process is done naturally and naturally in accordance with the objective conditions in the field without any manipulation. Bogdan and Taylor (in Arifin, 2011:140) expressed qualitative research is a research procedure that generates descriptive data in the form of written words or oral persons and observable behaviors. The results of this study showed that the science literacy skills of grade 5 students at SDN Ketabang I/288 Surabaya are in sufficient category, where students are able to think critically in a learning or in a daily environment. Teachers are also able to strive to allow grade 5 students to master science literacy skills easily and well by concentrating students ' learning, trying to apply science literacy activities in daily life, and more.
