Algorithm for analysis of temporal rainfall distribution within rainfall event

Temporal rainfall distribution within each individual rainfall event is very important for hydrological\ud modelling and for developing of design flows. This is because temporal rainfall distribution plays\ud crucial role on appearance of time of peak flow rate. Most dependable methods for determination of\ud temporal rainfall distribution are those, which rely on data from long periods of precipitation\ud measurements.\ud In the first part of the master thesis we developed algorithm in programming language C# which\ud analyses 5 minute data obtained from rain gauge and divides each individual rainfall events. We also\ud developed algorithm in programming language R that develops Huff curves and performs additional\ud statistical analysis of rainfall events. Both algorithms can be used on data based from every rain gauge.\ud In the second part of the thesis we performed analysis of data obtained form 30 rain gauges in\ud Slovenia and concluded that significant differences in temporal rainfall distribution within rainfall\ud events are occurring among them. The results show that geographical location plays significant role in\ud temporal rainfall distribution within rainfall events. We also tried to identify differences among\ud seasons and concluded that there are significant differences in temporal rainfall distributions within\ud rainfall events and even in number of rainfall events in different season. We also tried to identify\ud impact of climate change on temporal rainfall distribution within rainfall events using data for rain\ud gauge in Ljubljana-Bežigrad and concluded that there is no significant change to be observed
