In recent times, the challenges of the developing world are compounded by multiple crises: the food and fuel crises, the global recession, climatic events, and devastating natural disasters such as the earthquake in Haiti, the tsunami in Samoa, earthquakes in Indonesia and many more. How can the international community move the development agenda forward and stay focused on achieving the Millennium Development Goals agreed by world leaders in the year 2000?
