NSW health and medical research strategic review: issues paper

This Issues Paper presents a preliminary framework for a 10-year health and medical research strategy for NSW. It identifies a series of options to address the issues facing health and medical research in NSW. The purpose of presenting options at this early stage in the strategy development process is to allow stakeholders an opportunity to critique the emerging ideas, identify areas for further analysis and provide additional information to support this analysis, thus contributing to the development of robust, evidence-based recommendations for implementation. The Issues Paper presents:■ the background to the NSW Health and Medical Research Strategic Review■ an overview of NSW’s current performance in health and medical research■ emergent themes from the extensive consultations undertaken to date■ a preliminary strategy framework for health and medical research in NSW■ a series of options for action and potential outcomes for health and medical research in NSW.
