Drug resistant ESKAPE pathogens are common pathogens associated within the healthcare environment. The Small World Initiative has allowed for our microbiology class here at JCCC, to help participate in an amazing research event to help discover possible antibiotics from local soil samples. After we obtained our individual soil samples, we preformed a serial dilution, and created a master plate to find colonies that showed zones of inhibition. The candidates were then tested against several different bacteria strains in hopes that the soil sample showed characteristics of antibiotic inhibition
