I went to Robinson\u27s studio a few days ago to see what he was doing. He has about eight large sketches on pasteboard for the South Fork Yosemite. None for the Middle Fork, which he has not seen. His sketches are grand affairs but are all made up of rock showing no level floor. They might be used as illustrations of almost any of the grand canon. Lofty sheer-faced cliffs rising abruptly from a [illegible] park-[illegible] are the main characteristics of Yosemite Valleys, & I think that there should be at least one general view showing the range of wall-rocks & the level...
