The aim of thesis is to evaluate the effect of tertiary education financing system in Great Britain and Germany on its extent. First, there are described tertiary edu-cation and options for its financing. In the next part is described tertiary education financing system in the Czech Republic, Great Britain and Germany, and is evaluated effect of implementation of tuition fees in Great Britain and Germany. Based on the experience gained from these countries, there are defined potential impacts of implementation of tuition fees in the Czech Republic
