La competitividad sustentable en el diseño urbano arquitectura el caso: la franja urbana en Hidalgo Poniente, Toluca

Architecture and urbanism allow the definition of the activity fringes and nodes within the city. These determine the patterns of activity of the population where the “inside” and the “outside” as concepts within the framework allow the enrichment for the analysis of community life and contribute to new alternatives for the design of the urban public space. The challenge is to reinterpret these characteristics on the light of sustainability according to the quality of life as a complex system and to reproduce them in de design of the urban space considering the attributes of such patterns of activity such as feeding, sleeping, dreaming, living together, among others. In the present work these ideas area developed and applied to the western fringe of the Avenue Hidalgo in Toluca as case study.La arquitectura y el urbanismo permiten delimitar las franjas y los nodos de actividad en la ciudad. Éstos se definen por los patrones de actuación de la población en dónde el dentro y el fuera como conceptos permiten enriquecer el análisis de la vida en comunidad y contribuir a nuevas alternativas de diseño del espacio urbano. El reto es reinterpretar éstas características a la luz de la sustentabilidad en relación a la calidad de vida como un sistema complejo y a reproducirlas en el diseño del espacio urbano contemplando los patrones de actividad tales como la alimentación, el dormir, el soñar, el convivir, etc. en el presente trabajo se desarrollan estas ideas tomando como caso de estudio la franja poniente de la Avenida Hidalgo de Toluca
