Comparative analysis of management of selected entities in the time of economic recession

The aim of my thesis is in the first place to show the origin of American mortgage crisis, the impact of (from that implying) financial crisis on affected countries in Europe. In the second place, the aim is to analyze two selected companies that have managed to get over the financial crisis in different way in order to find out (mainly based on financial statements) the reason of financial instability, regarding the managerial decisions of the first company, and the reason of further development in case of the second one. In the first chapter of this thesis I am describing the historically well-known financial crisis focusing on 2007 American mortgage crisis and its gradual spread into European countries, including the Czech Republic. The second chapter is dedicated to methodological background of financial analysis which I am using in the practical part. The Practical part itself consists of financial statement analysis of two construction companies in order to show the differences in the financial management. The fourth chapter includes also non-financial ratios as the input variables of the overall analysis
