Ageism- discrimination on the basis of age

This work deals with ageism or age discrimination, so the theme that has become very topical because of increasing longevity. Age is an integral part of our life, this life stage is as important, such as childhood or adolescence, and that is why is necessary this term of life feel and don´t ignore the needs. The theoretical part deals with aspects related to age, so demography, old age and ageing process, factors influencing old age, ageism itself, its sources and possible solutions. In conclucion the family, its solidarity and conflict in intergenerational relationships. The practical part i´m trying to find out the opinion of today's seniors to old age and stereotypes associated with it and ageism. The selective method was a form of interviews with 5 seniors living either at home or retirement home, their ages move around from 66 to 84 years. The result is an analysis of their answers to questions about old age and compared with findings in the theoretical part
